Submit a Proposal.

This is a submission form for a proposal for an Art House on Elm show.

Please read the following carefully as it informs your submission. 

ELIGIBILITY

Art House on Elm accepts artwork in any media, covering any themes or topics the artist wishes to express. Limitations to entry are current work, created within 2 years of the opening date. Artwork used for proposal submission must be reflected in the final works accepted to be shown. If these works differ significantly, artwork will not be accepted and show will be cancelled without return of any fees collected.

MEDIA REQUIREMENTS

Each of our shows are open to any 2D and 3D visual arts media. Video proposals considered on a case by case basis.

SIZE REQUIREMENTS

All submitted work must take into consideration the gallery layout and space limitations. If the artist is concerned about artwork scale, please reach out for more detailed measurements of the space.

FEES AND SALES

$10 proposal fee must be submitted, if the artist is accepted to show in the gallery, this fee will be taken out of the overall rental fee. Once admitted into a show, artists must follow the timeline and pay fees in full before moving forward with the show. Once the artist and gallery has agreed to an opening date, and fees have been collected, ALL FEES are non-refundable. 

Artists have the opportunity to have sponsors cover the expenses of their show fees. Please speak to us if you are in financial need and we will assist in guiding you with this process or see our sponsorship page for more information.

Artists can submit 5-10 images with their proposal entry to be considered for a show. Each artwork is considered one entry, artists may submit "detail" images of artworks to support the approval decision but these images must be contained within the 5-10 total images. Each entry fee must be submitted via the item list on our shop. The entry fee must contain the artist's name or if someone is paying the fee for the artist, the artist must indicate that in the attached form below.  

These fees will be used to fund future shows or projects, provide beverages and light refreshments for the openings, and create social media promotions. For additional fees Art House on Elm will create and print your show cards.

There is no commission collected by Art House on Elm. The prices listed on your pieces will be your total upon sale of all artworks. If artists supply prints or merchandise to sell in the shop, Art House on Elm earns a 20% commission on these sales.

SUBMISSION OF IMAGES VIA EMAIL

Please send only digital images/files for consideration and name files in the following format. All entry files regardless of media/type must include the artist's name and the entry number of which they are submitting.

Please do not include the title of your artwork in this file naming. If you are submitting details, please include that information in the file name.

example: Thomas_William_1_detail.jpg

If you do not include detail in the file name, we will consider that an additional submission and you will be invoiced $10 for additional submissions.

Artist's work will not be considered if they have not paid for all submissions. 

Each image should be a high quality JPEG and should be no smaller than 1000 pixels in any direction. Each file must be 72dpi. Please do not submit links to images, websites, instagram pages, or Google Docs. Artist's can send multiple emails with entry images, but this must be indicated in the subject line. 

Art House on Elm will not be held responsible if your images or image quality is not in the necessary format, or orientation for proper viewing. Submission images should not include digital frames, borders or text that are not part of the work itself. 

VIDEO SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Art House on Elm accepts video and digital work. Submissions for these must be in a link to a youtube or vimeo video displaying the video submission in its entirety. These links should not include a password for viewing and must be public videos. If at any time before notification of admittance into a show, the artist's video link becomes invalid, the entry becomes invalid. Each video must be accompanied by a still image of the work and these images must follow the above formatting for image submissions and are included in the total submissions.

ACCEPTANCE AND PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

Each artist involved in an Art House on Elm show must have paid all fees in advance of the specific show they've applied for or are involved in. Accepted artist must supply all necessary information regarding their artwork on determined dates. Artist must deliver work on drop-off day or their admittance to the show is null and non-refundable. Artist must pick-up work on determined day or if they've made arrangements for another person to pick up work, Art House on Elm staff must be informed. Artwork will not be saved or stored beyond pick-up day due to the lack of storage at our location. If artists do not comply with these stipulations, they will not be allowed to participate in future shows and could risk being removed from current show calendar.

By submitting your artwork, you are in agreement to participate in the show for which you have applied. You are also in agreement to submit all necessary files in the correct formats, pay all necessary fees, and to deliver and pick up artwork on determined dates. You are agreeing that your artwork / images of your artwork can be shared via our social media pages.
